June Cowboy Celebrity Bio:

Actor Garret Davis

Garret has been riding pretty much all his life.  He started his filmography in the TV series T.J. Hooker in 1984 as the Jailor, in the show The Confession.  Since then he's worked several films and TV shows.  He also has been seen on commercials and you have heard his voice in the AllState commercials.

He loves horses, and enjoys rodeo, team penning, and has love for watching minority cowboys and cowgirls rise up to the top in the events they compete in.

We are honored to be allowed to share some of the "Cowboy" side of Garret with the following questions below taken from his official page http://www.actorgarretdavis.com  and his fan page on facebook https://www.facebook.com/actorgarretdavis

In the EQUUS clip, the light sorrel horse you were riding towards the end of the clip, is he yours?  If so what’s his name?  There are several photos of you and this cute sorrel horse, what’s his background/pedigree?

Well first of all her name is Penny and she is a Mare She is a Quarter Horse she is a descendant of Jet Deck and we have hauled to many rodeos all over Calif. She ropes (Heeling) she sorts cattle and she Pens cattle as well.

Who is the artist and song title of the tune in this EQUUS video?   Have you roped at the horse equestrian center in Burbank?

Cowboys to Girls-by The Intruders and yes I have done many rodeo events at the Burbank Equestrian Center Yhe Bill Pickett Rodeo as well.I have been riding horses since the age of Twelve.I started riding them because my friends and I wanted a new adventure and I saved up enough to go to a rent string and after that I was hooked could not afford to get a horse so i started mucking at this barn in order to ride then I started taking people out on rides then when I started getting good at my horsemanship I started taking care of horses privately.

How long have you been riding horses?  When was the first time you met a horse?  As to the Question of how long have I been riding I would have to say most of my life LOL.

What has it been like team roping with Jim Pickens?   Where have you both entered and roped at?

Roping with Jim Pickens has been a blast we have roped at USTRC Ropings,Charity Ropings,Cowboy for Kids Rodeos from Calif to Arizona.

Did you go to the NFR last year (2012)?  If so, what were your thoughts to see Native team ropers like Derrick Begay, Erich Rogers and Dustin Bird rope?

Yes We all went to the 2012 NFR and to see my fellow Native Brothers making it to the Big show is always a thrill.  Not just at the Rodeo but at all the Venues in and around the Las Vegas extravaganza.  Americans from all over the country meet in Vegas for this great Rodeo and meeting Native Americans from all over the United States and taking pictures with them has been great fun. Its a time where Cowboys from all over get together and enjoy the Sports that Unite us all.

Garret would like to tip his hat to Lynn Hart, former champion bull fighter, for introducing me to Garret, and giving us this opportunity for Indian Rodeo News to do a celebrity article so our readers can learn more about this amazing actor, and those in the entertainment business who ride and love the "Cowboys and Indians" way of life.
